Akra Morea's know-how and terroir in Monemvasia
Akra Morea is a family-run business located in Monemvasia, in the south-east of the Peloponnese. It grows around 3,000 olive trees at altitudes ranging from 500 to 550 meters. Thanks to its certified organic olive groves, it produces extra-virgin oils of great finesse. The Athinolia variety is particularly prized for its aromatic richness. She also uses the Koroneiki and Asprolia varieties, depending on the plot and the season.
Harvesting and extraction: the Akra Morea method
At Akra Morea, harvesting is done entirely by hand, as soon as the olives are still green. They are then transported under controlled temperatures. Pressing takes place within three hours, at less than 24°C. This process preserves aromas and polyphenols. Extraction is carried out in their own private mill, located on the farm. In this way, they control the entire process, right through to bottling.
