Description

The luminous balance of Muscat blanc de Spina and Vilana

Epoch Greek sweet white wine embodies the finesse and freshness of the Cretan terroir. Produced by Douloufakis Winery in Dafnes, it combines two emblematic grape varieties: Muscat blanc de Spina and Vilana. Together, they offer a soft, floral expression of rare elegance.

The nose reveals aromas of ripe peach, pear, honey and white flowers. On the palate, the texture is silky, the sweetness present, but always balanced by a natural acidity. Each sip reveals a perfect harmony of roundness and freshness. Finally, the long, luminous finish evokes the warmth and generosity of Crete.

A sweet, fresh and refreshing white wine

This sweet white Greek wine is best enjoyed chilled, at around 10°C. Enjoy it as an aperitif or with fruity desserts.

What’s more, it goes wonderfully well with sweet and savory dishes: poultry with honey, caramelized pork or mild cheeses. Thanks to its medium-sweet profile, it remains light, lively and easy to enjoy in any season.

Frequently asked questions about Epoch Greek sweet white wine

  • What’s the difference between a sweet wine and a mellow wine?

A sweet wine contains more residual sugar than a mellow wine, but retains freshness and balance thanks to its acidity. Epoch White is somewhere in between: slightly sweet, but still lively and floral.

  • Is Epoch Greek sweet white wine suitable as an aperitif?

Yes, thanks to its moderate sweetness and aromatic freshness, it’s perfect on its own or with light appetizers such as fromage frais, dried fruit or savory bites.

  • Can Epoch Greek sweet white wine be enjoyed with a full meal?

Absolutely. It’s the perfect accompaniment to sweet and savory dishes like a honey tagine, almond chicken or a mild curry. It also goes well with hard cheese or yellow fruit desserts.

  • What is the shelf life of Epoch sweet white wine after opening?

Once opened, the bottle can be stored for two or three days in the refrigerator, tightly corked. The wine retains its freshness and aromas without losing its natural roundness.

  • Is Epoch sweet wine a good choice for discovering Cretan wines?

Yes, because it expresses the sweetness and vivacity typical of Cretan wines. Its blend of Muscat Blanc de Spina and Vilana offers a balanced insight into modern Cretan aromatic style.
