Description
An ideal time for travellers in search of authenticity
There’s nothing like a friendly Cretan wine tasting session in the purest Cretan tradition: at your home, mine, at aperitif time! I’ll be delighted to open my door to you for a quiet wine tasting, a time for exchanging and sharing ideas about wine.
For over 2 hours, we’ll be taking our time. No complicated techniques, I promise, you won’t leave with a sommelier’s diploma! Just the pleasure of tasting, smelling and listening to your sensations.
I’d like to offer you a moment suspended on my rooftop, as the sun gradually declines over Chania. After a brief talk on the history of wine and the geography of Crete, you’ll go blind (bottles covered with a sock!) and discover four wines I’ve selected for you from Cretan winemakers. This method allows you to experience the wines tenfold.
Once a sacred beverage, this divine nectar is now available to you, and Cretan grape varieties will no longer hold any secrets for you! I’ll accompany this tasting with a few homemade Cretan mezzés (mine or those of the pros!).
Just give me a call and I’ll be happy to welcome you in a friendly atmosphere! During your tasting session, you can also learn a few essential Greek words: red wine, white wine, thank you, health, bon appétit…
More than just a tasting, you’ll be immersed in the vibrant and captivating Cretan way of life!
As the only person in Chania to offer wine tasting in French, I love sharing my passion in our language. It’s more intimate, more authentic, more uninhibited: a real pleasure!
