Description
An ideal time for travellers in search of authenticity
There’s nothing like a Cretan wine tasting in the purest local tradition: in your own home, mine, at aperitif time. I’d be delighted to open my door to you for a quiet wine tasting, a time for exchanging and sharing ideas about wine.
For over 2 hours, we’ll be taking our time. So, no complicated techniques: you won’t leave with a sommelier’s diploma. But you will leave with the pleasure of having tasted, smelled and listened to your sensations.
A rooftop at sunset, between exchange and discovery
I propose a moment suspended on my rooftop, while the sun gradually declines over Chania. Then, after a brief talk on Crete’s viticultural history and geography, you’ll discover four wines from Cretan winemakers that I’ve selected for you.
What’s more, tasting is done blind, with bottles covered by a sock. This method enhances sensations tenfold, allowing you to explore aromas without preconceived ideas.
A friendly immersion in Cretan life
Once a sacred beverage, the divine nectar is now accessible. As a result, Cretan grape varieties will soon hold no secrets for you. At the same time, I’ll be accompanying the tasting with a few home-made or professionally-chosen Cretan mezzés.
So get curious: give me a call and I’ll be happy to welcome you in a friendly atmosphere. What’s more, during the tasting, you’ll be able to learn a few essential Greek words: red wine, white wine, thank you, health, bon appétit.
A tasting in French, customizable on request
More than just a tasting, the experience offers an immersion in a vibrant and captivating Crete. In fact, I’m the only person in Chania to offer this wine tasting in French, and I love sharing my passion in our language. In this way, the experience remains more intimate, more authentic and, above all, uninhibited.
What’s more, tastings can become private and totally personalized. For example, you can choose a wine color, a winemaker, a region, or even a type of winemaking, such as organic or natural.
Experience content and pricing
The tasting includes four Cretan wines and homemade mezzés. The price is €79 per person. Bookings of more than 4 people for the same tasting session receive a 15% discount.
