A family heritage since 1930
Located in Tympaki, in the south of Crete, Petromilos Kritis is a family-run business that has been perpetuating traditional recipes handed down from generation to generation for three generations. Founded in 1930 by the Grinyarakis grandparents, the bakery is now run by their grandchildren, who combine ancestral know-how with contemporary demands.
The wood-fired oven: the beating heart of tradition
At the heart of the bakery is a traditional wood-fired oven, in use since the company’s earliest days. This ancestral baking method gives paximadia a crisp texture and a unique flavor, reflecting the Cretan terroir.
Organic and local ingredients
Petromilos Kritis is committed to using organically grown ingredients, without pesticides or chemical fertilizers. Cereals such as barley, rye, spelt and oats are selected for their quality and local origin, guaranteeing healthy, tasty products.
