Meteora Natural History & Mushroom Museum, located in Kalambaka near Meteora, presents a unique collection of mushrooms and offers gourmet products: mushrooms in oil, powders, pastes and more, all developed in scientific collaboration.




An exceptional institution dedicated to mushrooms
The museum, which opened in December 2014, combines a natural history museum with Greece’s first mushroom museum, with over 250 species on display in dioramas designed by artists and scientists . . Visitors can discover their life cycle, natural habitat and ecosystem role through a richly illustrated, immersive presentation.
Gourmet mushroom products
The museum is collaborating with the Department of Nutrition & Dietetics of the University of Thessaly to develop a range of 70 products, including: mushrooms in oil (porcini, chanterelle, shiitake…), powders, enriched pastes, soups, dehydrated mixes, and flavoured truffles. . These products highlight the nutritional richness and intense flavor of Greek wild mushrooms.
Quality and certifications
The museum holds ISO 22000 certification, attesting to food safety. What’s more, some of our products, such as dehydrated mushrooms, are certified vegan by the Vegan Society. . Suppliers are selected for their excellence and commitment to the environment, with no additives or preservatives.
Educational and wine tourism experiences
In addition to a fun and educational museum trail the institution organizes interactive workshops, AR (augmented reality) animations and, of course, truffle-hunting expeditions led by specially trained dogs. . It is aimed at families, foodies and fans of environmental education.
