FAQ - Frequently asked questions about handcrafted Cretan wines
Which Cretan wine is right for a Mediterranean meal?
Assyrtiko or a local white offers freshness and minerality, perfect with fish, salads and mezzés. A light red can accompany grilled meats or mature cheeses.
Why try artisanal wines from Crete?
They reveal the Cretan terroir, often grown at altitude, harvested by hand and vinified without artifice. In this way, each wine tells the story of its soil, climate and family know-how.
What type of wine to choose for a romantic dinner?
An aromatic white or light Cretan rosé creates a delicate ambience. For a more structured moment, opt for a fruity, elegant red with moderate tannins, typical of Cretan vineyards.
Do Crete wines deserve to be aged?
Some reds, such as blends of kotsifali or liatiko, benefit from developing their aromas in bottle. Fresh white wines should be enjoyed younger, to benefit from their acidity and fruitiness.
