Krista Agricultural Cooperative
Olive oil producer
A history rooted in tradition
Founded in 1927, the Kritsa Agricultural Cooperative is one of the oldest in Greece. Located in the village of Kritsa, in the heart of Crete, it brings together over 892 members committed to producing extra-virgin olive oil of exceptional quality.
A unique terroir for an exceptional oil
The cooperative’s olive groves stretch from the hills of Kritsa to the bay of Mirabello, between 300 and 700 meters above sea level. This semi-mountainous microclimate, combined with abundant sunshine and fertile soils, provides ideal conditions for growing the Koroneiki variety, renowned for its rich polyphenol content and fruity taste.
Practices that combine tradition and modernity
The cooperative uses traditional harvesting methods, with cold extraction carried out within hours of picking, guaranteeing an oil with an acidity of less than 0.3%. The modern facilities, equipped with ALFA LAVAL centrifugal machines and stainless steel vats with a capacity of 700 tons, ensure annual production of around 450,000 kilos of extra-virgin olive oil.
International recognition
Kritsa 0.3″ olive oil was awarded a gold medal at the ATHENA international competition in 2024, attesting to its superior quality.
