A brewery born of a simple idea: produce Greek, aim high

Hellenic Brewery of Atalanti S.A. traces its roots back to the late 1980s, in the central Greek town of Atalanti. The initial objective was clear: to create a Greek brewery capable of competing with the major European brands, while retaining a strong local identity.

Unlike many of the major brands present in Greece, Atalanti was not born as a subsidiary of a foreign group.
The approach is rather the opposite: a Greek brewery, built on local know-how, which has grown to become an internationally recognized player.

As investments were made in line modernization, new vats and the development of a quality laboratory, the company became a benchmark, capable of carrying several brands simultaneously, each with its own personality.

One parent company, many faces: the art of wearing distinct brands

One of Hellenic Brewery of Atalanti’s strengths is its rare ability to create, manage and ensure the coexistence of several strong brewing identities.

EZA – the brewery’s premium signature

The EZA range represents the modern soul of the brewery. The beers are clean, balanced and designed for a wide audience:
– EZA Premium Pilsener
– EZA Fine Lager
– EZA Alcohol Free

EZA is often the first gateway to the Atalanti universe.

Pils Hellas – the Greek “everyday” beer par excellence

Launched in 1996, Pils Hellas is fast becoming one of the country’s most popular beers.
It embodies simplicity well done: a Greek lager, stable, familiar and refreshing.

Blue Island – the summer brand

Lighter, designed for the Mediterranean context, Blue Island draws on the image of islands, sunshine and freshness.

Odyssey – premium ambition

With Odyssey Red, White and Dark, the brewery explores a segment that is richer in aroma.
Malty profiles and more sophisticated balances, aimed at a public accustomed to special beers.

And more…

The brewery also produces other references, sometimes in limited editions, and distributes/imports certain foreign labels to complete its range.

This multi-brand positioning is rare in Greece: most breweries focus on a single identity. Atalanti, on the other hand, orchestrates a complete ecosystem.

Know-how based on terroir and technique

Even with several brands, the brewery has one thing in common: the quality of its raw materials.

Atalanti works with:
– water from the Parnassus massif, reputed to be pure and stable;
– Greek barley, grown under contract;
– aromatic hops, selected for each style.

The brewery has invested heavily in modernization: can and bottle lines, automated but expertly-controlled quality control, ISO and FSSC certification for food safety.

These elements enable Atalanti to guarantee a consistency that is rare in the Greek brewing landscape.

From Greece to the world: a brewery that exports its identity

Today, Hellenic Brewery of Atalanti is no longer just a national player.
It exports to over 35 countries, driven by EZA and Odyssey, and by the positive image of modern Greek beer.

This success is no accident:
– a premium yet accessible positioning,
– strong local roots,
– distinct but complementary brands,
– a coherent strategy combining innovation and tradition.

The brewery now accounts for around 8% of the Greek market, a remarkably high figure for an independent structure.
