Ebion
Ebion is a Greek family producer, committed to nomadic, organic beekeeping with a profound respect for nature. It specializes in wild honey and bee pollen, produced using traditional methods. His products are hand-harvested in the mountains of Epirus, around Arta, where the flora remains unspoiled. Thanks to this traditional know-how, they offer rare quality, authentic taste and a natural wealth of essential nutrients.
Ebion: nomadic organic beekeeping in the mountains of Arta
Founded by Nikos Ouranos, a beekeeper since 2004, Ebion is based on a family tradition handed down through several generations. The farm is located in Ano Kalentini, near Arta, in the mountainous region of Epirus. Together with his wife Eugenia, Nikos has opted for completely organic beekeeping. Thanks to this demanding approach, they respect bees while preserving their environment. In addition to European certification, Ebion obtained USDA certification in 2010, concrete proof of its rigorous commitment.
The Ebion philosophy: follow the bees in nature
Ebion’s approach is based on a clear conviction: respect the natural rhythm of bees. To achieve this, Nikos and Eugenia move their hives with the seasons, following the wildflowers. Thanks to this mobile method, the bees forage exclusively on pristine flowers and grasses. Away from agricultural areas, they produce pure, rich and unadulterated nectar. What’s more, this approach fosters exceptional biodiversity, now rare in conventional beekeeping methods.
Unprocessed honey and raw pollen: naturalness first and foremost
At Ebion, processing is deliberately kept to a minimum. Honey is extracted cold, without heating or filtering. Pollen is carefully dried at low temperatures to preserve its nutritional qualities. No additives or industrial treatments are used in the process. As a result, each product retains not only its natural aromas, but also its active enzymes and the essential properties of the pollen.
Nutritional benefits and floral diversity
Ebion products offer many benefits:
- They contain a high concentration of natural antioxidants, such as flavonoids, enzymes and certain vitamins.
- These elements strengthen the immune system and help protect cells.
- Thanks to the nomadic method, the bees forage on a variety of flora: thyme, heather, oak, chrysanthemums and wild grasses.
As a result, each harvest develops a unique botanical profile and remarkable aromatic complexity.
Ideas for use: making Ebion products part of your everyday life
Ebion products can be easily integrated into a healthy diet:
- Pollen Sprinkle on yoghurts, smoothies, cereals or salads. Ideal for athletes or natural energy routines.
- Honey Delicious on toast, in herbal teas, homemade vinaigrettes and homemade desserts.
An artisanal structure faithful to its values
Ebion remains a family-run business on a human scale. Nikos and Eugenia focus above all on quality, traceability and sustainability. Unlike industrial production, they refuse to compromise, even if it means limiting volumes. Thanks to their unwavering commitment, they are able to offer production that is sincere, small-scale and profoundly respectful of the living world. Indeed, their artisanal approach reflects a strong desire to offer honest products rooted in a preserved natural environment.
