Our history

"An invitation to explore what you haven't yet discovered."

Imagine a world where every authentic discovery becomes a sharing experience. That’s the spirit of Growy and Tasty. Here, every product tells a true story, the story of passionate men and women attached to their land and their know-how.

As a couple, we’ve always had this deep-seated desire to eat better, to take care of ourselves and others.

Today, as French expatriates, we live in Crete and share our passion for cooking, healthy products and simple values: eating well, living well, and supporting small-scale producers instead of supermarkets.

At Growy and Tasty, we’re not just about selling products. It’s about telling stories, taking your taste buds on a journey, and putting the spotlight back on what makes sense.

We invite you to discover, as we have, discreet but brilliant craftsmen who cultivate authenticity and a love of taste.

A first project to put people back at the heart of what we eat

Before Growy and Tasty, we spent over four years criss-crossing Switzerland, meeting small and medium-sized producers. Every day, we hit the road to pick up their produce directly from the source, then deliver it in crates, just like at the market.

This project enabled us to introduce over 300 local producers and more than 1,200 different products to consumers in search of quality, taste and meaning. It wasn’t just a platform: it was a place for encounters, discoveries and shared commitments.

Behind each product was a story. Behind every order, a desire to eat better. And behind every exchange, a relationship of trust between producers and customers.

This first adventure taught us that authenticity can’t be found on the surface. It has to be cultivated with patience, passion and proximity. And it’s this vision that we continue to embrace today.

The call and the desire for a new start

Our mountains in Haute-Savoie were beautiful, peaceful and deeply inspiring. But as time went by, another desire slowly took hold: to live differently.

The need for sunshine, simplicity and a gentler way of life. The idea of being able to go out in a T-shirt most of the year, to enjoy the light, the sea and the Greek art of living. That famous “siga siga“, that slower, more human rhythm, that omnipresent benevolence, that sincere mutual aid.

So the idea of a departure took root. A seed was planted. It took three years for it to germinate, mature and take off. Like any profound change, there were doubts, of course. But as entrepreneurs, doubts are part of everyday life. What mattered was the vision: to live fully, differently, elsewhere.

This is how our expatriate project in Crete began.

L'étincelle: putting producers back at the center of our plates

The idea for Growy and Tasty was born long before we arrived in Crete. It emerged in 2022, from a simple question to a friend: “Do you know where your olive oil comes from?”

His answer was straightforward: “From the local supermarket.”

That day, something clicked. Why has it become normal to no longer know who’s behind what we eat? Why, in France as elsewhere, have we let the big brands take over so much space that we’ve forgotten that behind every food there’s a face, a place, a story?

It was with this in mind that the idea was born: to create a project that would give small-scale producers their rightful place, those who work with passion, often behind the scenes, giving priority to quality over quantity.

Because a product isn’t just an article to be consumed. It’s an expression of terroir, know-how and culture.

Growy and Tasty began as a simple vision: that one day, when people ask “Where does your olive oil come from?”, the answer would be:

“From a small Greek producer, who cultivates his olive trees with care and passion in Greece.”

The great departure for Crete

In October 2024, after three years of reflection, preparation and shared dreams, we finally hit the road to change our lives. No plane for us: with our dog by our side, it was by train, boat and long hours that we reached Crete. A journey that already felt like an adventure.

Our first stop: Agia Pelagia, a seaside village just a few kilometers from Heraklion. A peaceful spot, between hills and coves, ideal for putting down our suitcases and taking the time to build our new life. We stayed there for six months, observing, meeting and immersing ourselves… before finding somewhere more permanent.

This move wasn’t just a change of scenery. It was a choice of values, a need for coherence between what we live and what we share through Growy and Tasty.

Growy and Tasty becomes a reality

In April 2025, we moved from Agia Pelagia to Skaleta, a small seaside village to the east of Rethymno. It quickly became our new home, surrounded by olive groves, mountains and the Aegean Sea.

And on April 21, 2025, after months of preparation, Growy and Tasty was officially launched.

The site first opened in France and Belgium, with an initial selection of products with which we were already familiar: local olive oil, a few natural cosmetics… and above all, some wonderful human encounters with the producers.

It was a modest start, but deeply faithful to our vision: to offer little, but to offer well. To offer products that we use ourselves, that we love, and whose origins, history and faces we know.

A gateway to Europe and much more than just a store

One month after its launch, Growy and Tasty continues to expand. Our assortment has grown from 30 to over 100 products, and each new reference is the fruit of a precious encounter with a producer, a story, a place.

We are expanding our deliveries throughout Europe. Orders are now arriving from Italy, Germany, France and Belgium. This opening confirms our intuition: people are thirsty for authenticity, connection and taste.

But we soon felt the need to go further. For Greece is more than just its products. It can be lived, visited and cooked. So we launched the Growy and Tasty blog, a living space for sharing Greek recipes, must-see places like Knossos Palace, and localevents not to be missed.

Growy and Tasty is more than just a platform. It’s a meeting point, an online living space, where you can discover Greece in a different way. Where you can taste, travel and be inspired, as if you were there.

Encounters, emotions and stories to pass on

Summer is coming to Crete, and with it new encounters and new discoveries. Every week, we add new items to our store, not to grow fast, but to grow right.

It’s the Cretans themselves who reach out to us, open their doors to us, and proudly share their everyday products. Exceptional olive oils that provoke a real “wow effect ” on first tasting. Local recipes that we learn to prepare, such as dakos, with those who have been making them for ages.

And then there are those simple moments, so precious: walks with locals, producers who become friends, messages that arrive one morning to say, “I’d like my products to be on your site.”

Because Growy and Tasty isn’t just an online boutique. It’s a living showcase, a place where true stories can be told, where gestures handed down from generation to generation can be showcased, and where sometimes-forgotten know-how can shine.

Thanks to our refined logistics, we deliver all over the world. What a thrill to see a Cretan olive oil shipped to Virginia in the USA, or a parcel prepared in the morning flown to London later in the day.

And that’s where our story comes into its own. It’s built with them, the producers, and you, the curious, the gourmands, the travelers of taste. We share with them the feedback from your tastings, your favorites, your kind words. Because, in the end, what we do is connect worlds that don’t always meet.

And this story is just beginning.
